Life is Like A Book

Our life is one open book full of pages. We laugh, we cry, we smile, we stumble, we stand, we fall, and we succeed. Every chapter defines who we really are.
If we think long and hard about it, our life is very similar to a book. As each page progresses, so does time, and as each page progresses we live through different emotions, actions, and situations. As we pass through every day of our lives we go up and we go down, we smile, we laugh, we cry, we fail, we are victorious, we falter, we listen, we speak, we understand, and we seek wisdom.

What will your book of life say about you overall in the end? Will someone want to read your book? Will your life be interesting? Or will it be full of pages that don't really mean much at all. In order to present our best book/life to the world we must try to build our character as much as possible, and we must remember that we are here to do great things, we are here to change the generation by either changing the world abruptly, or by inspiring the soul that will change the world abruptly.

Understand Yourself

Serenity Prayer

Remember, that God can change anything that you willingly give to Him.  He can also give you the strength and courage to accept, make or adjust to change.  He is the source of wisdom and understanding and He freely gives this to His children.

Just know that He will give grace to those who seek Him.  Amen. ~ d.a.b.

FootPrints

One night a man had a dream.
He dreamed he was
walking along the beach with the Lord.
Scenes from his life flashed across the sky
and he noticed two sets of footprints
in the sand, one belonging to him
and the other to the Lord.

When the last scene of his life had flashed
before him, he recalled that at the lowest and
saddest times of his life there was only one
set of footprints. Dismayed, he asked,
"Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you, you'd walk with me all the way.
I don't understand why, when I needed you most, you would leave me."

The Lord replied, "My precious child. I love you
and I would never leave you.
During your times of trial and suffering
when you saw only one set of footprints...
That was when I carried you."

Fighting Sexual Sin

Fighting Sexual Sin

Sexuality is a good gift from God.
Genesis 2:24-25
For this cause a man shall leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave to his wife; and they shall become one flesh. And the man and his wife were both naked and were not ashamed.

Proverbs 5:18-20
Let your fountain be blessed, And rejoice in the wife of your youth. As a loving hind and a graceful doe, Let her breasts satisfy you at all times; Be exhilarated always with her love. For why should you, my son, be exhilarated with an adulteress, and embrace the bosom of a foreigner?

1 Corinthians 7:3-5
Let the husband fulfill his duty to his wife, and likewise also the wife to her husband. The wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does; and likewise also the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does. Stop depriving one another, except by agreement for a time that you may devote yourselves to prayer, and come together again lest Satan tempt you because of your lack of self-control. (Cf. 1 Tim. 4:3)
Biblical Protection.
Exodus 20:14
You shall not commit adultery.

1 Corinthians 6:18

1 Corinthians 7:2
But because of immoralities, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband.

Deuteronomy 10:12-13
And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require from you, but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways and love Him, and to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to keep the Lord's commandments and His statutes which I am commanding you today for your good?
God is for you.
Psalm 84:11

Romans 8:32
He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things?

Mark 10:29-30
Jesus said, "Truly I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or farms, for My sake and for the gospel's sake, but that he shall receive a hundred times as much now in the present age, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and farms, along with persecutions; and in the age to come, eternal life.
The danger of lust.
Matthew 5:27-29
I say to you, that everyone who looks on a woman to lust for her has committed adultery with her already in his heart. And if your right eye makes you stumble, tear it out, and throw it from you; for it is better for you that one of the parts of your body perish, than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.
Remember the story of the man who cut off his leg to save his life.
Great things from God.
Genesis 39:7-9
And it came about after these events that his master's wife looked with desire at Joseph, and she said, "Lie with me." But he refused and said to his master's wife, "Behold, with me here, my master does not concern himself with anything in the house, and he has put all that he owns in my charge. There is no one greater in this house than I, and he has withheld nothing from me except you, because you are his wife. How then could I do this great evil, and sin against God?"

Sexual relations are not essential to full personhood and happiness.
Jesus was single and chaste and fully human.
Isaiah 56:3-5
Let not the foreigner who has joined himself to the Lord say, "The Lord will surely separate me from His people." Neither let the eunuch say, "Behold, I am a dry tree." 4 For thus says the Lord, "To the eunuchs who keep My Sabbaths, and choose what pleases Me, and hold fast My covenant, 5 To them I will give in My house and within My walls a memorial, and a name better than that of sons and daughters; I will give them an everlasting name which will not be cut off.
Marriage is a living parable.
Ephesians 5:21-32
Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the church, He Himself being the Savior of the body. But as the church is subject to Christ, so also the wives ought to be to their husbands in everything. Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her; that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, that He might present to Himself the church in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she should be holy and blameless. So husbands ought also to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself; for no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ also does the church, because we are members of His body.

And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.

From now on we recognize no man according to the flesh; even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no longer.
Christ suffered agony for your purity.
Titus 2:14
Christ gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds.

1 Peter 1:18; 2:24
You were not redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold from your futile way of life inherited from your forefathers, [but with the precious blood of Christ]. He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed.

Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.

Exodus 34:6-7
Then the Lord passed by in front of him and proclaimed, "The Lord, the Lord God, compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in lovingkindness and truth; who keeps lovingkindness for thousands, who forgives iniquity, transgression and sin; yet He will by no means leave the guilty unpunished, visiting the iniquity of fathers on the children and on the grandchildren to the third and fourth generations."

Nehemiah 9:17
And they refused to listen, and did not remember Thy wondrous deeds which Thou hadst performed among them; so they became stubborn and appointed a leader to return to their slavery in Egypt. But Thou art a God of forgiveness, Gracious and compassionate, Slow to anger, and abounding in loving-kindness; And Thou didst not forsake them.

Relax, and Be Yourself

Relax, Be Yourself
Purpose:
To help students to let God lead their lives and not necessarily listen to people telling them what they cannot accomplish.

Passage:
Acts 16:11-15; 38-40.

Plan:
Did you ever have someone tell you that you cannot accomplish something? Maybe it was passing a test or accomplishing something in sports. There are people out there who are, for some reason, naturally negative and attack others with their negativity. I remember attending a funeral of a high school student and one of the senior boys began to cry. After the funeral another student was overheard talking about the young man and saying things like, he's such a cry baby.
There was one woman who would not listen to others who told her she could not accomplish thing in life. Her name was Lydia and she was a business woman in Philippi. She heard the disciples preaching and became extremely convicted and became a leader for Him.
Many people didn't think Lydia would be a leader in her business or in the church. You, like Lydia may be used by God in different ways. You may become a great preacher or Bible study teacher. You may become a leader in the church and help be responsible for reaching thousands for Jesus. You may be the one who invests a lot of time into a young person and what that young person accomplishes is beyond belief.

Performance:
Put your faith into action. Make a list of all the ways you can make a difference for Him. Your list might include praying for others, helping the needy, leading a Bible study or cleaning the church building. Just make up your mind to allow God to lead your life.

God's Cake

Greetings Beloved,

Now we all, from time to time have problems or troubles in our life.  After all life is not a piece of cake, or is it?  So the next time hyou feel troubled why not have a piece of .....God's Cake.

Sometimes we wonder, "What did I do to deserve this", or "Why did God have to do this to me."  Here is a wonderful explanation!

A daughter is telling her Mother how everything is going wrong, she's failing algebra, her boyfriend broke up with her and her best friend is moving away.

Meanwhile, her Mother is baking a cake and asks her daughter if she would like a snack, and the daughter says, "Absolutely Mom, I love your cake."

"Here, have some cooking oil," her Mother offers.  "Yuck" says her daughter.  "How about a couple raw eggs?" "Gross, Mom!"  "Would you like some flour then?  or maybe baking soda?"  "Mom, those are all yucky!"

To which the mother replies:  "Yes, all those things seem bad all by themselves.  But when they are put together in the right way, they make a wonderfully delicious cake!

God works the same way.  Many times we wonder why He would let us go through such bad and difficult times.  For God knows that when He puts these things all in His order, they always work for good!  We just have to trust Him and eventually, they will all make something wonderful!

Always remember Beloved, God is crazy about you.  He sends you flowers every spring and a sunrise every morning.  Whenever you want to talk, He'll listen.  He can live anywhere in the universe, and He chose your heart.

Now I hope your day is a "piece of cake!"  After all, Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we are here we might as well dance. ~ unknown
